FASHION (NON)SENSE

Every human being is naturally drown to create, make something new, get inspired, get recognized by something. To me, all of those shapes and forms of new ideas are ART. It’s just a matter of nourishing them and making them better every single day or passing by them like they are common flower on the side of the road. The sense about life attracts every other form of sense, hence the fashion (non)sense.

For a fashion designer, two things are very important to me: fashion events and new trends. The changes that are new, the trends that are fresh, the style that is coming, all those things are important pieces of a creation and visualization. Every fashion designer is trying to be unique and authentic.

He/she has its own vision and it is not attracted to transience. That’s why every recognizable brand in the world became “famous” by its own pattern or mark, and by even mentioning their name, we can clearly remember their “stamp” in the fashion world. They are creating THEIR fashion. Every brand creates their own fashion. However, why do we see so many copies then? Is it a business decision or lack of ideas? What is more important – being creative and unique or being business-savy?

Having fashion sense is not a question of a luxury anymore. It is a our way of “silent” communicating with others, it is us sending message to the world about who we are and what we represent. Some people will notice and salute our way of styling, some will just make a comment, but for sure, it will not go unnoticed – if we have something to “say”. That’s why, I think, it is very important to be unique, to express our selves through fashion, to have our own ideas.!

For me, my greatest inspiration is traveling. To be able to see different cultures, experience their way of life for a day or two, their architecture, their colors, people… All of that fascinated me always. The crucial thing was the energy of the city and people in it. It gave me immeasurable ideas that I’ve always succeeded to deliver to the paper. Those were travel blogs, crazy schetches, even more crazy creations, but those moments are indescribable and never-forgetful! Those are the moments to life for! Forget about staying in the game, what’s important is to meet other people, get passionate about something and CREATE! The traveling is what connect us, what inspire us, what make us think broader, think different and be – different. The air and the spirit of another city is unparalleled comparison to any other form of inspiration, in my opinion.

To be more self-aware of another form of sense and another form of creation takes very little and gives a lot, especially if we can lift each other on a higher levels. It is true that everything changes, but creation is endless. Go out there, get passionate and be creative. The results can not miss!

NEW YORK INSPIRATION

I don’t think I am the only one who, when I first stepped into this fantastic city, fell in love with everything in it, and most of all, in its energy.

It was exactly three years ago when I had my first  fashion show at New York Fashion Week. Getting familiar with it, especially in this way, I had to introduced myself to the New York audience in a artistic way, and I wished to come back here whenever I could. I followed my senses, of course, and I knew where I would feel complete. On the first day of rehearsals, I saw what it has been a great motivation for me all these years: freedom, expression, width, high vibrations. I could write so much about this.

I was going to make my dream come true.  Artist dream. I want to live and create in NY.

When I say complete, I want to express my view of “fashion sense” (and not only fashion ), in this “center of the world”. Fashion in NY is fascinating. Fashion is not a simple explanation here. It just can not be. Fashion is all around. It’s in the streets, in the people, in the tasty food, in the way of life.

It’s not easy to define fashion, especially to me as a designer. However, each period has its own direction, its style, which is often standardized. That’s the base, then every individual has its own “trend”. Trends are something that is set, but our creations are unique. Our trend’s creation is what we are pursuing. We carry what we want, what is in the trend, to feel part of the whole. Being “fashionable” in this city is very easy, because this city loves and embraces the differences. I always detested uniformity, and often times I ignored it. On the other side, I sometimes used for a fantastic pieces of my own and styles.

Since we are all individuals, with our own choices and our own way of life, New York is a great place to savor fantastic fashion, and also go through personal transformation. The catharsis from the standard is the most beautiful freedom, and this city supports it strongly.

I find the inspiration in this energy that makes me move, explore, go further, leave the everyday comfort, change. Streets, tourists, yellow taxis, rain coming down, wet streets shining, Broadway, subway, inspiration is everywhere! And that’s just a small part of New York. New York that takes me to whole other dimension, where my creations are extraordinary, like the city itself, created exclusively from the feeling of everything surrounding me. Don’t be afraid to be unique and different, this city is crazy in love with it! Come here to show your (un)limits, make something beautiful, and live the dream! This city reward it with huge gratitude-it gives you its streets, its energy level, freedom of speech, expression, open mind and differentialities. Adventure begines when you are not ready for it.

STYLE AS A WAY OF YOUR OWN EXPRESSION

For a fashion style we can say that it is not the most important thing in our lives, but the way we dress often sends a message to others. The first impression we leave on someone, it can often be through our style. There is also our behavior, but for a long time I paid attention just to the connection between these two things. In fact, depending on what you wear, it seems that such an energy we emit and send through our behavior, attitude, communication. What we hear most often is that good style comes with a lot of money, but it is far from the truth.
When I’m working on my collections, I often have a vision of a woman I’m trying to create for. Although collections are different, they are still related by the same thread that connects them all. Good style is all that is related to us, what is in us, and that is our charisma, energy, above all, life awareness, and fashion. Often woman might not be noticed just by what she’s wearing, but much more by her aura and charisma.
Lifestyle, the music we listen to, places we go to, it all affects how we dress and what we like to wear. Based on that how we dress, not just for making premature conclusions, one can imagine what kind of life we live. What is particularly interesting is connection between interior design and us. I had the opportunitys to see the different living spaces of different clients, and just by looking around I could conclude what is that person’s occupation, witch are the colors he/she likes, and what is their fashion style.
Good style doesn’t always mean using expensive stuff. Perfect styling often can be achieved with small details, accessories, and the way they are incorporated. There is also the makeup. With good makeup and appropriate jewelery we can highlight very simple dress .
On the fashion scene, we see a well-styled shows, from beginning to the end. It’s a well told story and concept made by designer or stylist. It is necessary to think about every detail, but it is crucial to find the right measure, because if you overdo it, it can create completely opposite effect on the audience.
Fashion and art should not be separated. From the perspective of the designer, inspiration is the most important thing. Whether it is in the detail, in a person or in a object, it drives us to create something new and innovative. Then starts the game that has no limits.
